Brunella is a multimedia artist and performer.
She honed her storytelling skills through a lot of live and in-studio performances: as "Dumpty" in 80 episodes of TV Ontario’s Gemini winning "Polka Dot Shorts" , and the holographic character in the long running play “Cannibal Cheerleaders on Crack” at the Poor Alex Theatre in Toronto. After performing her “Rubber Girl” in Toronto and Vancouver, her first comedy short film “The Food & I” won special jury prize at Invideo in Milan, Italy.
An award winning filmmaker (producer, writer, DOP, film editor, d.b.a. dB digital TV), she has also held various (notoriously serious) jobs, including Executive Director and Event Manager.
Her (co-director, DoP, editor) short documentary will be screening at Cineworks July 23, 2024 and she continues to produce videos for the Italian Day Festival and many others, including creating branded social media content.
She has also won prizes for Poetry.
Her 3D photography has been sold from Portugal to Canada and seen at galleries, private venues and fundraisers. Her photos have been published in newspapers in Canada (WestEnder, V-Rag, F.I.L.E.S. Magazine, and online The Village Voice), US books (by University Press) and websites (Twisters Gym, Coastal Rivers Pet Hospital etc.) .
From March 28, 2020, and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brunella hosted and produced the "Virtualian Festival". The Festival ran for 10 consecutive Saturdays bringing exciting new ideas and showcasing approx. 100 artists from Canada, Italy and the US, directly into people's homes to spur their creativity, and sense of belonging.
She continues her comedy (from standup to improv to sketch), to this day, after taking a break during the pandemic.
She is currently writing 2 books and looking forward to more adventures and to helping YOU achieve great multimedia storytelling.
