Brunella is a multimedia artist and performer.
She honed her storytelling skills through a lot of live and in-studio performances. She was Dumpty in TVOntario’s Gemini winning Polka Dot Shorts for 80 episodes, and the holographic character in the long running “Cannibal Cheerleaders on Crack” at the Poor Alex Theatre in Toronto. After performing her “Rubber Girl” in Toronto and Vancouver, her first comedy short film “The Food & I” won special jury prize at Invideo in Milan, Italy. She continues her comedy from standup to improv to sketch, to this day.
She has also won prizes for Poetry.
Her 3D photography has been sold from Portugal to Canada and seen at the Reach, at the O'Connor Gallery and other private venues and fundraisers. Her photos have been published in newspapers in Canada (V-Rag, WestEnder), US books (University Press) and websites.
An award winning filmmaker (producer, writer, DOP, film editor, d.b.a. dB digital TV), she has also held various (notoriously serious) jobs, including being the Executive Director of the New Westminster Hyack Festival Association.
From March 28, 2020, and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brunella produced the "Virtualian Festival", her contribution to the arts and the community during those difficult times. The Festival ran for 10 consecutive Saturdays bringing new exciting ideas and artists from Canada, Italy and the US into people's homes to spur their creativity.
She recently finished co-directing a short documentary and produced 3 videos for the Italian Day Festival.
She is currently writing a book and looking forward to more adventures.
